Functional Behaviour Assessment
As counsellors, we often work with clients whose needs extend beyond traditional counselling frameworks. Developing interdisciplinary skills is becoming increasingly important in contemporary counselling practice.
Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) is not a counselling modality. It is an evidence-informed behavioural assessment approach with its foundations in psychology and is widely used across behaviour support, education, disability services, psychology, and allied health.
Understanding FBA provides counsellors with valuable skills to better understand why behaviours occur, identify environmental and contextual influences, strengthen case formulation, and collaborate more effectively with professionals from other disciplines. These skills are particularly valuable when supporting clients with complex behavioural, developmental, or psychosocial needs.
We're excited to have Resh facilitating our upcoming ACA Approved Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) Training. Drawing on his extensive expertise in disability practice and higher education, Resh will provide practical, evidence-informed learning that participants can immediately apply within their own practice.
Whether you work with children, adolescents, or adults, this training will broaden your understanding of behaviour, strengthen your assessment skills, and enhance your confidence when working with complex presentations.
Join us for this valuable professional development opportunity and earn ACA-approved OPD points while expanding your counselling toolkit.
